Candlestick mirror DO KÖNIG VASSILAKIS Very rare piece in gilded bronze and mirror signed on the base of the candlestick Height: 65 cm Do König Vassilakis was born in Dillenburg, Germany. She began her artistic training in the studio of Peter Paul Fechner in Tübingen and then joined the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Lausanne. In 1968 at the Venice Biennale, she met the Greek sculptor Takis with whom she traveled for sixteen years in Europe and the United States before settling in Greece, near Athens, after the end of the dictatorship in 1974. They lived and worked there for ten years. In 1989, she left for the Lucca region in Italy. To this day, she still works among the most famous foundries in the world in PietraSanta. This artist creates sculptures and furniture in bronze. Rather than furniture, she rightly prefers to talk about sculptures to live in, as her unique pieces are true works of art. Her work has been shown at numerous exhibitions around the world.
