Guy LE FLORENTIN is an artist born in Italy in 1907 and died in 1978. Giuseppe Vittorio Lumbroso commonly called "Guy Le Florentin" spent his childhood and adolescence in Italy and arrived in Marseille in the 1920s. He then met Raimu, who suggested that he make a film, but Guy Le Florentin preferred to devote himself to painting. He earned his living by making commissioned portraits, but became mainly known for his Corsican and Provençal landscapes. Guy Le Florentin mainly used the technique of impasto with a painting knife on oil paint, giving a lot of relief to his landscapes. In 1927, he founded La Galerie contemporaine in Paris (Montmartre). He lived in Corsica from 1930 to 1938, then lived between Marseille, Monaco and Paris until the end of his life. He died in 1978 saying "I am the happiest of men... because I no longer own anything.
