The cup rests on a small pedestal. The body is marked in the lower part with three chiseled fillets.
The slightly flared upper part is worked with embossed curves, counter curves and acanthus leaves in the Louis XV style.
The cup is hallmarked:
. Mercury hallmark for silver 2nd title at 800/°°
. Goldsmith's hallmark: PC & Cie with an anvil for Paul Canaux active between 1892 and 1911
. A rare "return" hallmark: hare's head in an irregular octagon. This hallmark was applied to exported and then reimported works.
Very beautiful cup with a beautiful rocaille decoration. The cup is dense and of quality.
