Pair of candelabra by the French artist Louis Valentin Elias Robert (1821-1874) Women draped in the antique style with a swaying silhouette, their hair in a bun. They are dressed in a long tunic that reveals the shape of their bodies. In their left hands they carry on their heads an urn with two handles that serves as a base for the upper element composed of a bronze candelabra with five branches ending in bouquets of irises and flowering bindweeds. Very beautiful bronze patina. The whole rests on white marble bases inlaid with a red marble cartouche. Signature on the two caryatids "LVE ROBERT" student of David d'Angers and Pradier. slight crack on one marble (see photos).
