"New edition illustrated with 172 drawings by Riou, engraved by Pannemaker. Publisher's binding called "A la mappemonde" or "Au dos à l'ancre", beveled. Second cover of Engel i type. Very fine upper plate with particularly gleaming gold, signed Engel in the anchor. Beautiful spine with anchor. This binding benefited from a short life and only adorned three titles: Les enfants du capitaine Grant, L'île mystérieuse and Matthias Sandorf. Second cover perfect."

Very sharp corners, slightly rubbed. Some foxing on the first and last 4 pages (see photos)
