"Kilim Van / Hakkari. Anatolia. Circa 1900. 200 X 156 Cm"
Magnificent kilim from Hakkari in the far east of Anatolia. The piece is the work of the Kurdish populations who are the majority in this region. The piece is woven in two sections joined and sewn together. In the past, nomadic peoples only had small looms, light and easily transportable... This kilim alone presents many characteristics of Kurdish weavings. First, its long fringes braided in mesh, two parts with a slight asymmetry, the patterns of course and also the indigo blue in large quantities... The colors are exclusively natural and vegetal. The tones are very soft in a controlled harmony. Great art! Circa 1900 Very good condition, nice patina Dim: 200 x 156 cm
