Circa 1830-1850 Alsace - Bas Rhin Stomach piece, Alsatian breastplate of a married woman named Vorstecker and dating from the 19th century. Cardboard frame covered with velvet and silk calico fabric with silver cannetille embroidery. Lining on the back in ecru linen canvas embroidered with red cross stitch (illegible). Rich central composition with three rosettes highlighted with a ruche of silk ribbons. Note slight soiling on the lining and slight crushing of the ribbons.
