"Ancient Book, Esotericism, Witchcraft - Theosophia Practica - J.-g. Gichtel - 1st Edition"
Date: 1897 Edition: First French edition Author: Johann Georg Gichtel Translator: Probably Paul Sédir (pseudonym of Yvon Le Loup) This rare copy of Theosophia Practica, by Johann Georg Gichtel (1638-1710), is the very first French edition, published in 1897. This work is a pillar of mystical-theosophical teachings, influenced by the esoteric doctrines of Jacob Boehme, and it is fully in line with the Rosicrucian movement of the late 19th century. Purpose of the work: Theosophia Practica is a spiritual guide aimed at helping the reader understand the mechanisms of the fall of man and his inner regeneration. Inspired by the teachings of Jacob Boehme, Gichtel describes an initiatory path to achieve spiritual enlightenment through the purification of the soul and esoteric knowledge. This book was intended for spiritual seekers, alchemists and mystics who wished to deepen their inner quest to get closer to divine wisdom. The work is distinguished by its theosophical approach, guiding the initiate through mystical practices to awaken the soul and prepare it for a direct connection with the divine. The book addresses themes such as inner transmutation, meditation and detachment from material desires in order to find true spiritual freedom. Paul Sédir, pseudonym of Yvon Le Loup (1871-1926), discovered the mystico-theosophical-alchemical work of Jacob Boehme through his occult research. Seduced by these teachings, he translated several works by Boehme and his disciples, including Theosophia Practica. Although the translation is anonymous, it is generally accepted that Sédir is the author. The edition was published by Chamuel's Rosicrucian Library in 1897, with its collection taken over by Chacornac in 1898. Additional features: This book contains five magnificent color plates, illustrating esoteric concepts and mystical symbols, reinforcing the spiritual scope of the work. Condition: The book is in good general condition, with a period binding in half-leather and corners. The headcaps and joints are worn, and some light signs of wear are visible on the spine and corners. The pages are clean, without annotations, with a beautiful patina due to time.
