Paperweight, called bunchin, representing a crab on a branch signed below by the famous Japanese bronze artist Suga Geppo (born in 1935). The classic theme of kacho celebrating nature by representing an animal and a plant is here in the spotlight. This paperweight is perfect for calligraphy. Traces of ink are still visible on the piece, an artist having probably used it for his creations. Japan, circa 1970, 29 x 5.3 x 2.6 cm.
