Circa 1830-1840 Provence Spectacular printed kerchief on cotton with a wood block on an indigo and green background, dating from the Romantic period. Bayadere stripe decoration on a green background and polychrome half-moon patterns. In two corners a quarter moon arranged in a fan shape and inspired by the graphics of Indian moon shawls. Neoclassical borders with bizarre patterns and an angular outline called half-moon. Very fine cotton having retained its finish, with yellow superimposed on the blue to obtain green. Finely rolled and hand-sewn edges from the period. Unidentified but most likely Alsatian printing factory. No defects. Excellent condition and colors for its age. Dimensions: 95 cm X 90 cm.
