Signed lower right KURT JUNGSTEDT 1894 - 1963 Painter Kurt Jungstedt was the son of the film director Emil Linden and the opera singer Matilda Jungstedt. He studied at the technical school in 1909 and at the Wilhelmson painting school in 1911-1914 as well as with Henrik Sørensen and Oluf Wold-Torne in Oslo in 1915-1916. He lived in Copenhagen from 1917 to 1919 and experimented with cubism there. During the 1920s he also stayed occasionally in Paris. Kurt Jungstedt first became known as a decorator on the ships M/S Kungsholm (1928) and M/S Drottningholm (1929), the latter realistic hunting scenes on a silver background, and for the Valandhuset in Gothenburg (1932).
