Clavier decorated with an antique helmet with a sword placed on a crown of oak and laurel branches, against a background of a bundle of flags. Folding counter-clavier. Pommel decorated on each side with a spindle of winged Jupiter. Brass filigree horn hilt. Double-sided blade with central ridge, 78 cm long, signed on the heel "A Chassepot ENTREPeur a Châtellerault". Scarlet cloth tie. Grand dress scabbard in black patent leather with two gilt brass fittings and ordinary dress scabbard in nickel-plated steel. The set is presented in a wooden case covered in black morocco, interior trimmed in burgundy velvet, closing with two nickel silver pivot locks, with a handle in the same metal engraved with the initials "FM".
