The dagger represents the body of a dragon, the head serves as a handle and the body as a scabbard. Characters, plants and clouds are sculpted all along the body of the dragon. Mother-of-pearl beads are inlaid. On one side the artist has engraved his signature in a rectangular cartouche. The dagger is made of bone. Japanese work from the Meiji period. End of the 19th century. Good general condition, complete. A mother-of-pearl inlay is missing, the bone is split in places, all these accidents are usual and are visible in the photos. Length: 365mm
