"Important Italian Secretary In Carved Exotic Wood And Marquetry, 19th Century"
Superb secretary from the second half of the 19th century, made of exotic wood veneer with sculptures, moldings, and bone inlays. The refined decoration presents stars, bouquets of flowers, foliage and geometric rosettes. The upper part opens with a central leaf flanked by detached columns, completed by two side leaves, four compartments, and five drawers. The lower part has a drawer in the belt and rests on four baluster legs connected by a spacer topped with a spinning top. Dimensions: Height: 187 cm Width: 133 cm Depth: 59 cm Some accidents and losses, characteristic of a piece of period furniture, testify to its historical authenticity. A masterpiece of Italian know-how.
