"Citipati Mask, Himalayas"
Mask of "citipati" a macabre representation reminding everyone of the precarious nature of human life. Used during ceremonies and dances in monasteries in Nepal and Tibet, wood with remains of polychromy, missing and worn paint, late 19th early 20th century.
