Their company, "Guglielmo Pugi e Figli", worked mainly for export, especially to the United States of America. The two brothers later continued the business under the name "Fratelli G. e F. Pugi"   Guglielmo Pugi's work, typical of Art Nouveau, is characterized by direct carving on alabaster and Carrara marble (mostly white or veined) some of which are preserved at the Historical Alabaster Museum in Volterra.
