Beautiful work by the painter René Seyssaud which represents an almond tree in bloom on the banks of the Berre pond.
The artist creates a luminous composition, with contrasts and plays of light.
In the background, we can see a sailing boat sailing on the Berre pond.
It was in 1905 that the painter René Seyssaud settled in Saint-Chamas, where he had a house and studio built. With a notebook always in his pocket, he travels the countryside and the banks of the Berre pond, sketching with large, quick pencil strokes a scene or landscape that has aroused his interest, capturing, with a few energetic strokes, the essence of his subject with great finesse.
A student of Pierre Grivolas at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Avignon, his career took shape when he met the painter François Honnorat, an art broker, who became his patron and dealer. He frequented the Salon de la Société nationale des beaux-arts, the Salon des indépendants, the Salon d'automne and the Salon des Tuileries.
He also exhibited in many galleries in France (Bernheim gallery, etc.) and abroad (Amsterdam, Barcelona, New York, etc.).
A landscape painter, René Seyssaud focused on showing the landscapes of his region, particularly Vaucluse, and the local life of its inhabitants.
