Modernist Art Deco floor lamp, model 41E by Maison Jean PERZEL.
Very rare old edition, circa 1930/1940, with beveled base, cornet shaft and very large frosted glass basin 64 cm in diameter (in excellent condition). Signed on the base J Perzel.
Recent productions of this model by the Perzel workshop are a little taller (188 cm), with a smaller basin (63 cm), and a base with straight edges. They are offered from €11,420...

Good general condition, with scratches and wear on the golden patina, basin in perfect condition, electrification OK (internal wire changed), with original Bakelite socket, without switch...
Superb lighting!... "A great Parisian virtuoso of lighting, Jean Perzel's great concern was to create models capable of emitting a light that was pleasant for the eyes.
His method was almost scientific: he used top quality glass that he had cut like a diamond in his workshops". (This is verified in this superb torchiere, whose central hole in the basin is very visibly hand-cut).
Old E27 socket in brass and porcelain, fixed on an "internal horn" at the top of the foot (easy to remove to change the bulb), and adjustable in height by a sliding strip equipped with a tightening screw... (original and functional system)... see photos.
Base of the base slightly raised and weighted by a strong white lacquered steel ring.
