"Luxurious Italian Toilet Jug Early 18th Century"
Sumptuous jug in embossed brass, origin Italy, late 17th century - early 18th century. Probably used for washing, its generous spout seems intended to add a large quantity of water. Made from a sheet of embossed brass with a lush decoration. Body with a rounded bottom, placed on a hemmed shower foot and fitted with a large handle (fixed by riveting) simulating a snake biting the upper edge. Two dragons surround a bouquet of flowers in a floral decoration bordered by two delicate friezes. Two extraordinary birds confront each other under the spout. Base decorated with a frieze of drops. The height of refinement, the underside is also decorated with a geometric pattern surrounding a 6-pointed star. No dents, no missing parts, no restoration. Beautiful size for this unique piece. Old patina which sometimes takes on the appearance of old leather. Delivery: €20 for mainland France.
