1970s Hollywood Regency table in the style of Charles Hollis Jones with gilt brass and plexiglass base and octagonal beveled glass top. Please note: a very small chip on the edge of the top (see detailed photo). Dimensions: Height 73 Top diameter 120 cm Charles Hollis Jones began creating furniture and sculptures at the age of 13. After studying art at the University of Los Angeles, he began working as a freelance designer. He quickly gained a reputation for his bold and avant-garde designs, using materials such as acrylic and plexiglass to create unique furniture. In the 1960s, Jones became famous for his clear acrylic furniture designs, which were exhibited in the most prestigious art galleries in New York and Los Angeles. He also worked with celebrities such as Frank Sinatra and Diana Ross, creating custom furniture for their homes. Over the years, Jones expanded his work into lighting, creating lamps and fixtures in acrylic and brass. His work is now in the permanent collections of numerous museums, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
