Nice series of 4 small framed wooden panels, representing fish. Dimensions: 12 x 12 cm and 16 x 16 cm with the frame. These are probably projects for earthenware tiles. Jean René SOURGEN Born in 1883 on a farm in the Landes, Jean-Roger Sourgen (1883-1978) was absolutely not destined for an artistic career. Passionate about hunting and nature, he practiced many professions. It was his meeting with the painter Alex Lizal, also from the Landes, that would give birth to his vocation. "He was first Alex Lizal's factotum, from around 1905, and began to paint with him around 1910. His popularity only increased!
