"Empire Clock "flora Fertilizing The Universe" With Roses"
Empire period, circa 1810. The Goddess Flora pours a basket of roses onto a celestial sphere resting on a bed of clouds. Oval-shaped base decorated with applique friezes, faun masks and attributes of comedy and music. Resting on four bell-shaped feet. Very well preserved original mercury gilding. Enamelled dial signed "Thiaffait à Lyon". Movement in good working order, revised by our watchmaker. Anchor escapement, silk thread suspension. Brass gong, strikes the hours and half hours. Dimensions: Height 34 cm x Width 28 cm D. 11 cm *Félix Thiaffait, active at Place du change in Lyon in 1810.
