Max AGOSTINI (1914-1997), painter of light, champion of color, associated with the post-impressionist movement, but adding a modernist touch of his time, the second half of the 20th century. He mainly painted Provence and landscapes on the borders of Berry and Creuse, notably near Gargilesse where Chaumerette is located, a hamlet where the painter lived.
