"Pair Of Berber Brooches "
Important pair of brooches from the Aït Bouguemmez tribe, in the Moroccan High Atlas. Perfect illustration of the tribe's ancient jewelry, such as women wore to fasten their clothes. Their decoration multiplies the apotropaic symbols of fertility. They were made in the 19th century, as their various hallmarks indicate. They are thick and heavy.
