"Neo-gothic Reliquary Monstrance – 19th Century "
Large gilded bronze monstrance flanked by two side chapels with pinnacles each receiving the representation of a bishop in majesty. Topped with a cross, it accommodates in its center a quadrilobed niche surrounded by the Holy Crown in which is a reliquary theca with its wax seal. The Holy relic exhibited here is inviolate but the phylactery designating it is illegible.At the foot of this monstrance which is also suitable for a monstrance, are six angels alternating prayer for some and carrying the shroud of the resurrection for others.
Dimensions of 71 cm high by 25 wide with a foot of 17 cm. Good condition and beautiful patina.
