"Pair Of Berber Brooches "
This pair of silver fibulae come from Morocco, more precisely from the Berber tribe of Haha, on the Atlantic coast of the kingdom, near Essaouira. These Haha fibulae are very graphic and refined, made of high quality silver. They are decorated with apotropaic signs of fertility, as befits jewelry used by women to hold their clothing on their chests. They date from the 19th century as their hallmarks indicate.
