The baluster body, forged, assembled by crenellated brass brazing, rests on 3 high wrought iron feet with square section, chamfered, riveted on triangular plate. Copper side handle, flat, in console with upright wings. Swinging iron handle, on hook ears. Kepi lid, shell thumb and spout cover. On the outside bottom, coppersmith's mark (photo 4). Finished by visible hammering. Ancestor of the kettle (this term only appears in the French language in 1740), the coquemar placed in the hearth or hung on the rack, kept hot water available for domestic needs.
