Antique Cane With “tinder Lighter” System

Rare cane with a system, "Tinder Lighter". A similar model is presented in the reference book by Catherine Dike "the canes with a system" illustration 7 / 104. A chain system drives the stone wheel. The flint is held in place by a spring blade. The wick is adjusted by a ring which allows it to be moved forward or backward. It comes out on the side and is protected by a small cover. On our model, part of the system is missing: The flint, the spring blade and the wick are in fact missing. The wheel which moves the wick forward or backward works and the small removable cover on the side as well as the chain are present. The entire cane measures 35,04 inches. End of the 19th century.
