A pair of miniature celadon ground Kakiemon dishes. Each of foliate form and decorated on a celadon ground with a Shishi above a spray of peonies. Japan C1680-1700.Condition; both excellent, perfect.
Provenance; from a private English collection, Sussex. Previously in the collection of Louise Hawley Stone (1904-970). Former volunteer, donor, fundraiser, board member and committee chair of the Royal Ontario Museum. Donated over a fifty-year period approximately 1,000 items including Japanese textiles and Chinese imperial court costumes.
