Magnificent ball-shaped cache-pot with floral decoration, entirely hand-painted and enhanced with gold paste. This very beautiful vase comes from the Léon Sazerat factory (1831-1891). Léon Sazerat was born in Limoges on April 10, 1831, he is the only Limousin porcelain maker who did his apprenticeship at Sèvres. He settled in Limoges in 1852, his production was noted at the 1855 World's Fair and earned him an honorable mention. As a practitioner with a passion for research, he simultaneously became interested in porcelain, earthenware and enamel. He also started making earthenware painted under enamel, which he exhibited in Paris in 1878. The quality of his production earned him a gold medal. In 1886, at the height of his art, he participated in the exhibition of Applied Arts in Industry, organized in Limoges, where he exhibited a set of 87 pieces of fantasy porcelain, earthenware and various stoneware. He died on May 27, 1891. His partner continued until 1894 before ceasing his activity.
