"Sewing Kit Box Mother-of-pearl And Gold Embroidery Scissors Palais Royal Early 19th Century"
Very beautiful 19th century sewing kit (Restoration period) in its box inlaid with lemon wood. The tools are in mother-of-pearl and gold and rest on a removable tray covered in velvet. The scissors have their branches in gold (stamped inside the rings). They are in very good condition. The blades have small points of oxidation. The thimble is also in gold, stamped "boar's head". It is in perfect condition without holes or dents. The bottle cap is also in gold but it is a little dented. The inner cap of the bottle is stuck and the bottle has a small tear at the neck. The needle case is also in solid gold, also stamped. The box also contains a mother-of-pearl dressmaker's tape measure but it is in two pieces. The two snowflake-shaped bobbins are also in mother-of-pearl. The shuttle, also in mother-of-pearl, has the small enameled thought of the Palais Royal. The lid of the box is a little warped and the box does not close. However, it has a very nice tampon varnish and has no lack. It measures: 15.7 cm x 10.5 cm Height: 4.7 cm
