Cane called "automaton". The knob represents a cat's head in synthetic material with an animated face. A button on the back of the head articulates the eyes and mouth, the eyes go up or down, are white then brown or blue, the mouth opens and closes. Note a slightly damaged ear, visible in the photos. The entire cane measures 37,79 inches. Automaton canes were very fashionable in the 1900s, but there are few examples, the often fragile systems having rarely resisted time. Rare model dating from the beginning of the 20th century.
