C Müller depicting the deployment of formations for each major battle. This is a first edition and a rare copy of a reprint by J. U. Cotta the Younger in Tübingen, which caused a scandal in the German publishing world. The text is identical to the more common Leipzig and Frankfurt editions (minus the author's prologue in which he accuses Cotta of being a thief. The famous publishing house J. G. Cotta had fallen on hard times and had started to reprint unauthorized editions. A few decades later, J. F. Cotta would restore the reputation and prestige of this great publisher from Tübingen. A beautiful collector's item, either as part of the series or as a stand-alone souvenir that marks a moment controversial in the history of the German publishing industry.
