Music box playing works by Donizetti, Rossini and Meyerbeer, including the introduction to Guillaume Tell and La Bénédiction des Huguenots. Mechanism with 44 cm cylinder, large spring motor and 2 combs with a total of 165 theet. The ‘mandolin’ effect is created by groups of 8 teeth along three quarters of the length of the comb. Grooved cast-iron base plate and wooden interior with glass cover.

The mechanism plays 6 melodies as indicated on the original music sheet. The inside of the lid is framed in rosewood and placed in a box with fluted corners, veneered in burr walnut. Rosewood and pallissander strings all over the top of the lid, on the frond and on the sides. In the centre of the lid, a cartouche with mother-of-pearl inlay. Ebony and rosewood band veneer.
