The Biedermeier style is a style that deeply marked Germany and Austria in the 19th century by perfectly embodying the values of a new art of living. The Biedermeier period corresponds to the "Metternich era" (named after the Chancellor of the Austrian Empire), a period of peace following the Napoleonic Wars, which extended from the Congress of Vienna in 1815 to the revolutions of 1848.
