Student of Paul Saïn and Cormon, he appeared at the Salon des Artistes français from 1901, where he obtained numerous awards during his participation.
He exhibited very early in Avignon with the merchants Kassler and Mouret and during this period created decorative panels in collaboration with the painter Paul Saïn.
Wounded during the First World War, he lost an eye. This will not prevent him from having a brilliant career.
He was appointed director of the Avignon School of Fine Arts from 1920 to 1928.
