Théodore Jules GUEDY was born in Fréjus in 1837. He died in 1911. A painter mainly of seascapes, he made his debut at the Paris Salon in 1880. This delightful little seascape depicts a 2-masted ship returning to port under rough seas. Théodore Jules Guédy is featured in the "Bénézit". The painting is enhanced by a 19th century frame in wood and gilded stucco. The dimensions with the frame are 22.5 cm x 29.5 cm.
