"Chinese Wedding Bed"
Very beautiful Chinese canopy bed dating from the 19th century and coming from a private collection. These beds belonged to wealthy merchants or dignitaries and were a jewel of the very succinct furnishings of their homes. Solid wood of different species, and carved panels on a lacquer background. This bed was brought back by an ambassador in the 1950s. At present, it is perfectly packaged, and some parts will be sent by photo on request. It is complete and is assembled in a complex way by tenons and mortises. Fô dogs sit on the entrance piles. The dimensions given in reference are to within two or three centimeters.
