"Long French Cashmere Shawl In Coral Red Reserve Circa 1850"
Circa 1850 France Long French cashmere shawl with large vermilion red reserve dating from the beginning of the Second Empire period. Very fine wool and silk weave with six-color cut throw on a Jacquard loom in vermilion red tending towards coral color. Decorations with four borders loaded with floral garlands on a white background. In each corner of large fan-shaped spandrels and garlands of Indian flowers. The outline of the design is angular with patterns called broken baton. Very fine colored fringes on the two ends. About ten moth holes which do not call into question the solidity of this shawl, relatively uncommon. No holes or stains. Good general condition of color and conservation. Dimensions: 297 cm x 145 cm
