The hat, beautiful colors and vibrant atmosphere for this work signed H.Ottman. Henry Ottmann (1877-1927) born in Ancenis, trained at the Académie Julian in Paris, he debuted at the Salon La Libre Esthétique in Brussels in 1904 and participated in the Salon des Indépendants in Paris from 1905, at the Salon d'Automne, at the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts and at the Salon des Tuileries. In 1911, Ottmann participated in the exhibition Artists of Modern Society at the Paul Durand-Ruel gallery with Armand Guillaumin, Henri Lebasque among others, in 1912 he exhibited at the Eugène Druet gallery, followed by his participation at the Marcel Bernheim gallery alongside Manguin, Tirman, Alexandre-Paul Canu, followed by numerous exhibitions: 1922 Exhibition of the Brussels Artistic Circle with Paul-Albert Besnard, Pierre Bonnard, Raoul Dufy, Othon Friesz, Charles Guérin, André Lhote, Henri Matisse, Paul Signac, Maurice de Vlaminck, then at the Armand Drouand gallery. Works at the Musée d'Orsay and the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Nantes, at the Musée National d'Art Moderne -Paris, and at the Hanover Museum. Ottman leaves us works in a post-impressionist style, his palette reminds us of the colors of Renoir and Monet,
