It comes from Greece and dates from the end of the 18th century or the begining of the 19th century -- around 1780/1820.
On the central panel, Mary tenderly breastfeeds her son lying on her knees. This iconographic theme symbolizes maternal love.
Saint George and Saint Nicholas are represented on the left panel. On the right panel, we find Saint Charalampe and Saint Dimitri.
The characters are finely painted in tempera (paint based on egg yolk and natural pigments). The background of the light blue triptych is also decorated with flowers -- symbols of life, rebirth and beauty.
Very good general condition of conservation with some wear of time, cracks and small losses.
