"Large Porcelain Dish With Central Decoration Of A Tree- China 18th Kangxi Period "
A large porcelain dish decorated in iron red, brown, gold, blue and yellow with a tree and lotus flowers. The central decoration is encircled by four blue cartouches on a svastika background. The enamelling and relief work is considerable. The border is decorated with the same flowers as the central decoration.
This type of decoration cannot be described as Imari, as this palette requires the use of underglaze blue, yet there is no use of underglaze cobalt here.
