Object description :

"Foo Dog"
The Shiwan Kilns were located in the city of Shiwan in Foshan Province, Guangdong. The area has a long history of ceramic production, which reached its peak during the Ming and Qing dynasties. This pottery lion has a pair of horns on its head, bulging eyes in different directions, and a ball stuck under one of its front paws. It is both vivid and lifelike, and is a wonderful example of Chinese folk art.
