Reliquary Painting To The Glory Of Saint Francis Xavier – 18th Century

An original niche reliquary with its arched shape typical of this period. Rich work that this reliquary with many gold thread canetilles and various pearls framing an enhanced engraving of Saint Francis Xavier (1506-1552). Our image represents him, evangelizing in his capacity as a Jesuit missionary. The apostle of the Indies was canonized in 1622.
He is here surrounded by bagged relics of Saint Viete (?) Martyr, Saint Placide Martyr, another Saint Martyr, Saint John Nepomuk, Saint Magne Abbot and Saint Victor Martyr also. On the back are three seals with a clearly visible coat of arms carried by an angel.
