Wood with natural patina and marks of time, good general condition of conservation (see photos). Humla region, Nepal Dimensions: 41.7 x 7.5 cm Provenance: Former collection of Jean-Luc Cortes, author of the reference work: La statuaire primitive de l'Ouest du Népal (Éditions Héritage Architectural, 2011). This statue, both a symbol of fertility and spiritual reflection, embodies the richness of Himalayan traditions. Shiva’s trident, a powerful emblem of creation and transformation, connects this feminine figure to the divine, evoking Parvati, Shiva’s companion and guardian of life. The column’s geometric and beveled motifs celebrate fertility and prosperity, fundamental elements of local beliefs. A work of understated elegance and spiritual depth, this statue transcends the simple ritual object to become a vibrant testimony to the fusion of art, symbolism and spirituality in Western Nepal.
