Marcel Gendre (1909-1997). Watercolor signed lower right, church square and passers-by. Dimensions on sight 29 x 20.3cm Dimensions with frame: 32 x 40 cm Marcel Gendre was born in Brittany in 1909. In Paris in 1926 he studied at the Beaux Arts. In 1936-1937 he spent 6 months in Rome thanks to a scholarship from the Institut de France, then he stayed several months in Algeria from which he brought back dazzling images. From 1940, he settled in Le Puy where he began to exhibit.
