"Charming Child's Sewing Box, Napoleon III Period"
It is made of 'blackened pear wood' and receives a mother-of-pearl and gilded decoration of floral motifs and 'gilded spandrels' on the top. The sides and the base, also blackened, are slightly enhanced with gilding. The top opens onto an interior entirely covered in very cheerful floral fabric, on a red background; in perfect condition. Four 'spindle' columns support it, resting on an 'H'-shaped base, with two pads and a turned spacer. Very good original condition.
