Oil on canvas depicting the Creuse Valley in Gargilesse by Gabriel Mathieu (1843-1921), a famous French painter specialist of landscapes. He mainly painted the Creuse Valley but also the banks of the Marne. He was part of the Crozant school which gathered many artists who painted the Creuse Valley.
Original canvas and frame in very good condition. The canvas measures 92cm wide by 65cm high and with the frame the painting measures 109cm wide by 82cm. Very nice painting with beautiful colors
