"Portrait Early 19th Century After Girodet Of The Mameluke Katchef Dahouth"
UNLIKE THE PORTRAIT OF GIRODET WHICH REPRESENTS THE MAMELUK SEATED, THIS PAINTING FOCUSES ON THE FACE. THE PROPORTIONS ARE HOWEVER RESPECTED BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL PAINTING MEASURES 144 CM AND THE DIMENSIONS OF THE FACE ALONE MUST CORRESPOND TO THE 46 CM OF OUR PORTRAIT. THE CANVAS AND THE FRAME Suggest THAT THIS PAINTING IS CONTEMPORARY WITH THE ORIGINAL WORK, AROUND 1804. PURCHASED IN VERY POOR CONDITION, WE RESTORED IT AND FRAMED IT IN A BLACK XX FRAME 9CM WIDE. DIMENSIONS FRAME INCLUDED 84 X 72 CM
