Beauduc is a natural site located in the greater Camargue in the commune of Arles and Saintes Maries de la Mer.
It includes one of the largest sandy beaches in the Mediterranean, lagoons and a village of huts (the hamlet of Sablons).
Beauduc beach had its moment of glory in the 1970s, when it was a "free zone", that is to say occupied without authorization and urbanized without planning permission. Many "wild" huts were then set up, becoming meeting places where locals and jet-set people rubbed shoulders.
